School is back: let's design new educational paradigms with the children

Finally back to school!

After a long closure due to the Covid-19 health emergency, the school was finally able to reopen.
Opening the gates and being able to meet again, beyond the screens, was an indescribable feeling.
Despite staggered entry times, small work groups, and the division of spaces, Monday, June 8th was a day when our educational community was finally able to meet again.
Over the past few months, we have often questioned ourselves as individuals, as teachers, and as a school, about the compatibility between compliance with regulations, health protection, and the needs of our children and families. There were many concerns, but we decided, as always, to put the children first; and it was the children themselves, with their smiles, their desire to see each other again, to re-inhabit the spaces they love, that dispelled all our doubts.
Their respect, their empathy, and their ability to embrace the imposed rules have shown us that the world will be a better place in their hands.

The pages you'll see in the attached newsletter are a collection of experiences from our first week together, where respect for the new rules, social distancing, and the use of masks were the starting points for research and reflection.
Beyond the new rules of social life, the children questioned the idea of city and community, seen as a group of people living together in a space we ourselves create, a space imbued with strong values and dominated by nature.
And it was precisely this rediscovered nature, sorely absent during the long months of lockdown, that was the focus of their attention, as you'll read through the poetic perspectives of the children recounted in these pages.
We thus reconnected and reinterpreted ourselves as a community of rights, a respectful and educated community, ready to rethink itself within new social paradigms. You will read a collective story. The children lived these experiences in small educational groups, but the team planning and the children's wonderful way of communicating even remotely, leading adults along shared paths of thought, chart a path that sees us divided into groups to respect the rules but, once again, united in our search for meaning and value.
